Back to life

dsc_0037-1.jpg

Well we had a great visit with Gigi, who left Sunday morning. We didn’t do much because there isn’t much to do! On Sunday we bought some plants for our front garden and spent some time outside. It was a nice, relaxing day and we ended it with a family movie night. We watched Monster’s Inc, which Hayden apparently loves since he sat through almost the entire thing! He even says “monsters” when he sees the DVD (he’s been watching it in the car for a few weeks now). Today he said “guitar” (don’t know where he learned that one! lol) and repeated “buddy” after I called him that. It was cute, he just said “buddy, buddy, buuuudddeee” lol.

Tomorrow we are supposed to go to our first outing with the mom’s group in Houma, its at Chik Fil A, so hopefully we’ll have a nice time and meet some moms/kids.

2 year appointment

Hayden had his 2 year appointment today so that he could get established as a patient and if he gets sick, he’ll be able to go right in.  I decided to take him to my doctor since is a family practice and I really liked them.  He hasn’t grown much since his 18 month appointment … he was a bit over 30 pounds and a bit over 34 inches tall.  They checked out his eczema, which happened to be flaring pretty badly today and gave me some new medicine for it as well as some Zyrtec to help his itching at night.  The nurse said that’s probably why he’s been waking up every night; she has eczema and said the itching is really intense and that he’s probably itching at night, so the Zyrtec will help that.  Other than that, he’s great!  The doctor also said that since there isn’t a history of eczema in our family, its likely that he’ll grow out of it, so I’m crossing my fingers!  He’s been so red all over the last few days and he’s got a scabby ankle and finger from where he’s scratched until he bled :-(  His skin has been so consistently good for so long, I hate to see it like this and I’m not really sure of the cause.

Big cousin Hayden

dsc_0006.jpg

Hayden finally got to spend some time with his new little cousin, Ethan. We drove up there Tuesday to spend some time with Ethan and Mandy. Hayden was so fascinated by him. He kept picking up his hand and his foot and looking at it like he was amazed. He knew to be soft with him and only touched him sweetly. I know he’ll warm up to him more and more each time he sees him!

Wade’s mom has been in town visiting since Saturday, but we haven’t been doing much since there really isn’t much to do here anyway. Besides going to Lafayette on Tuesday we went to Houma one day, but that was about it!
