Just a few

Today I had a client come over for some studio pictures and as usual, I had the kids model for me to test my lighting.

I will cry when she stops doing this … I can’t get enough of her “camera face”

This is a perfect little box that Aunt Debbie found for me at an antique store … I had planned to use it for my session, but the baby wasn’t really steady enough.  It was a perfect little spot for Emelyn, though!

Not quite the same effect LOL

Fruit and Vegetables!

Last week, Hayden and I did some lessons on fruits and vegetables.  First, I downloaded a file folder game for him that let him sort fruits and vegetables into pockets.  He really enjoyed learning the names of them and trying to guess which pocket it went into.  We did some writing and color sheets about them as well.  On Friday, we took a trip to Walmart and he helped me find all the fruits and vegetables he had learned about in the file folder game – we found a few others that were neat as well.  We took all of our produce home and played a guessing game.  Hayden would reach into a bag and try to guess what he was feeling – he almost always got them right!   He then described what he was feeling then pulled it out and tried to guess if it was a fruit or veggie.  We cut them all open and looked for seeds and talk about what they smelled and tasted like (he didn’t taste many of them LOL)  He did discover a new found love for oranges!

After all of the learning, it was time for some fun!  We poured plates of paint and used the cut produce to paint!  Hayden and Emelyn both really enjoyed the painting!  Later, when Wade got home, he helped us open up the coconut and see what was inside.  Hayden got to taste the milk and was fascinated by the coconuts inside.

Family Wii Night

Last weekend, I thought it would be fun to have a family Wii night.  Hayden hasn’t really played it before and I think he’s getting old enough to play some of the games, so we hooked it all up and started out with Toy Story.  He and Emelyn had a blast playing TS then we moved on to Wii Bowling, Boxing and finally SSX Tricky (one of daddy’s favorites).  It was a really fun night and something we’ll be doing much more often!  I think even Drew enjoyed hanging out all together!
